Seocho-gu is one of Seoul's most affluent districts, sitting on the south bank of the Han River just west of Gangnam-gu, with which it forms the wider "Gangnam" area. It is a mix of high-end riverside apartments in Banpo, a dense legal and judicial cluster (the Supreme Court, the Seoul High and Central District Courts, and the prosecutors' office) around Seocho Station, and major corporate anchors including Samsung's headquarters. Property here is among the most expensive in Korea, so it reads as a settled, professional, family-oriented district rather than a budget or student area. It is not a nightlife or backpacker zone; it is where established residents and corporate employees live.

Đi lại
Seocho-gu is well connected across four Seoul Metro lines plus the express Sinbundang Line. The Express Bus Terminal complex is one of the largest intercity bus hubs in the country and a triple-line interchange (Lines 3, 7, 9), while the Nambu Bus Terminal handles routes to the south. For the airport, Line 9 runs directly to Gimpo International Airport, and limousine/airport buses to both Gimpo and Incheon depart from the Express Bus Terminal area. Gangnam Station, on the Seocho–Gangnam border, is one of the busiest commercial and transit points in the city.

Ai sống ở đây
Seocho is an affluent, largely residential district with three distinct faces. Banpo, along the river, is defined by high-end apartment complexes (Banpo Xi, Acro River Park) and the Banpo Bridge rainbow fountain — expensive and family-oriented. Seocho-dong is the civic and corporate core: the courts, law firms, Samsung Town, and the commercial energy spilling over from Gangnam Station. Bangbae in the west is quieter and comparatively more attainable, with residential streets and small café and restaurant clusters. Southward, Yangjae and Umyeon are greener and more suburban, bordering Umyeonsan mountain and Yangjae Citizen's Forest. Overall the district is calm, safe and pricey rather than lively or cheap — good for people prioritizing schools, space and a professional environment over budget or student life.
- Banpo / Jamwon— Riverside luxury apartments, the rainbow-fountain bridge and Han River parks; premium prices, family-focused
- Seocho-dong— Legal/judicial cluster (Supreme Court, courts), Samsung HQ and the Gangnam Station commercial edge
- Bangbae-dong— Quieter western residential area, relatively more affordable, low-key café and dining streets
- Yangjae / Umyeon— Greener, more suburban south near Umyeonsan and Yangjae Citizen's Forest; corporate offices and the AT Center
Dành cho cư dân nước ngoài
Seocho is not a student or university-town district — it has a few specialized institutions rather than a large undergraduate campus scene, so the young international-student energy is over in Gwanak or Seongdong, not here. The most established option is Seoul National University of Education (a national teachers' college in Seocho-dong, next to Gyodae Station), alongside smaller graduate and arts schools. Foreigners who settle in Seocho are typically corporate employees, professionals and families drawn by the courts/Samsung employment base, good schools and safe riverside living — with the trade-off of some of Seoul's highest rents. English signage and services are reasonable given the wealth and corporate presence, but this is a settled residential district, not an expat-nightlife hub.
